To the moon!

I do need to do a little catching up on blogging, but for now the best I can do is link to a much-more-on-top-of-this-blog-thing friend's blog. We are blessed to have great friends that live down the street, and two weeks ago we brought some root beer floats over and the kids all launched water balloons.  It was an evening filled with laughter...the photos will tell the story:)
 (thanks, Megan)

One of my favorite moments was when Addie was hanging all of her 25 pounds on the launcher and let go to send her balloon rocketing about 10 feet up in the air.  She instantly pointed up to the sky (at the moon) and shouted "To the moon!".

First Meetings.

A couple of short weeks ago, Evelyn was introduced to some more of her much loved family.

Auntie Angie

 cousin Julia

 cousin Logan

 & of course, Grammy.
Everyone was excited that Grammy could stay with us...more photos of her visit to come:)

Awana Awards Night.

So, as it goes for me lately, I'm a little behind...but, two weeks ago (or was it 3?) was the conclusion of Awana for the year.  Ella completed her first year of Cubbies, and did a super-fantastic job memorizing her verse each week.  She will be a Cubby again next year, but completed her first book and got her award to prove it:)

They also sang the Cubbies song.
Nathan completed his first year of Sparks.  It is for K-2nd graders, and is more self-guided.  Here he is (front and center) singing, of course, the Sparks song.

Nathan received an award for completing Book 1, and he got his "frequent flier" award for also finishing the extra credit book.  Each award was personalized with something the teacher wrote, like "Great Listener", "Good job memorizing"...Nathan's said "Getting his teacher a chair."...such a servant:)

going home.

Evelyn is now just over 2 weeks old, and we are pleased that she is back to her birth weight, weighing in at 6 lbs 5 oz at her two-week weight check.
However here are some pictures of our hospital stay.
Evelyn went home on Wednesday, April 25.  I forget how little they look in the car seat the first time.

Having your fourth child is a completely different experience from having your first.  Evelyn was born early Monday morning, which meant that most of our friends and family all had to work.  My mom was able to take Monday off, so my parents watched Nathan, Ella, and Addie most of that day, coming and going from the hospital.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, Matt would bring the kids in the morning and we'd all have breakfast together, then we'd hang out until nap time, about 2:00 p.m when Matt would bring the kids home.; Matt and the kids would come back for dinner, then we'd hang out again until bedtime, about 7:30 p.m.  Obviously then Matt would stay at the house with the kids and I at the hospital with Evelyn.

So, what do you do with 4 kids in a hospital room all day?

A lot of this:
 Some of this:

 a little bit of this:
 way too much of this:
but, thankfully lots and lots of this:

Introductions.

My parents stayed with Nathan, Ella, and Addie, then brought them to meet the new baby later in the morning.  Everyone was surprised when they got there and discovered they had a new baby Sister!  All 3 of them (as well as Matt and I) were planning on getting a brother.  Honestly Nathan was a little disappointed and didn't want much to do with her right away, but he got over it pretty quickly.
The girls were all over her from the start.
Addie has only been sweet and caring, but she's also 2 and sometimes sweet and caring means grabbing and poking!

First meetings:

Papa & Nana were excited to meet grandbaby #10!

 Auntie Amy & cousin Mayah.
 Auntie Lynette & cousin Katlyn.
