zoo day; peacocks.

As I write this, it is mid-April, 35 degrees, and snowing (wait, raining, no wait, now it's snowing...), BUT 2 weeks ago when we went to the zoo it was 65 degrees and sunny. It was a glorious day and our first real amount of time outdoors this year (without snowpants and frozen noses). We were even able to meet Aunt Amy, Mayah, and Micah. The kids had a blast, and now that we have a season pass, we will return again (as soon as Spring makes up it's mind and decides to stay!)

We were all fascinated by this guy. He wasn't showing off for us, but a brood of peahens near by. Still so beautiful! Ella (who yelled at almost all the animals), yelled to this guy as we were leaving, "Bye Mr. Peacock. I think you're beatufiul. I like your feathers!"

Here's his more laid back friend. I love looking at their brilliant colors and the intricate details of their feathers. Such a display of our wonderful Creator!

Here's the kids watching and talking to the peacocks. Unfortunately I soon discovered afterwards that Addie is looking at her hand because she just stuck it in some goose poop.
